Poetry in Pain - Rýni eftir Brooke Nilsson

Collective has written an authentic and brilliant song! Poetry in Pain is a heartfelt song, and the band is not afraid to show their raw and vulnerable side to exhibit the passion emitting from this song.

The melody is memorable and fun to sing along with, and there are a few great instrumental solos in the song, such as the guitar soli starting at 3:40. The singer starts off the song with a soft and smooth voice and has no issue making the quick switch to a louder dynamic and a high-spirited tone! The song has a great arc, starting off soft and building up to a nice high point of the song, and then declining back down to a soft ending, with a unique, jazzy-like ending. Great job!

Poetry in Pain has many great aspects within the song; the singer has great diction, so the lyrics are clear and the audience will be able to understand them easily. The instrumentation throughout the song is really great, with my favorite instruments being the guitars; their melodies/harmonies are captivating! The band functions very well together as everything lines up and blends well with each other. The balance between vocal lines and instrumental interjections is really great, and the song flows very nicely from beginning to end. Overall, this is a very well executed song, and I look forward to hearing more of Collective's work!
